Mimi is the co-founder and editorial director of 270 Media. She has created, edited and packaged content for a consumer audience focusing on travel, health and lifestyle issues for magazines, websites and books for over three decades including over ten as editor of Marin Magazine. Mimi grew up in Hawaii and Southern California and loves to explore mostly beach towns up and down the California Coast. And is thrilled to be starting a new business with her mother, Nikki N. Wood and longtime friend, Nikki C. Wood.
Favorite Destination: Any beach on any island in Hawaii with a take out plate lunch.
Nikki C. Wood
Co-founder of 270 Media and publisher of Localgetaways.com, Nikki C. Wood is a media and publishing veteran with 30 years in the industry. Having lived in all corners of the U.S. and a few places abroad, traveling is in her blood. Nikki spent nearly a decade as group publisher for the Where Traveler family of products and recently launched Baybeat.com. She took a little less than a year’s break in between to join Modern Luxury’s flagship San Francisco magazine, where she held the titles Publisher and VP of Revenue Strategy.
Favorite Destination(s): Chicago, Barcelona and Venice.
Nikki N. Wood
Nikki N. Wood, co-founder of 270 Media and President of Marin Magazine, was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. She has been in the publishing industry for more than 30 years, starting with Coast Magazine, along with her husband, in 1991, where she served as Publisher and grew the business from start-up to a popular regional publication in the Newport Beach, California area. In 2005, Nikki co-founded Marin Magazine where she managed the day-to-day operations as Publisher and Editorial Director until her retirement in 2020. Retirement did not last long.
Favorite Destination: Any road trip with my husband Jim — we’re a perfect match when it comes to travel.
Group Production Manager
Since joining Marin Magazine in the beginning of 2006, Alex has worn many hats. All of them she’s enjoyed while being part of a great team. Alex grew up in New York City and moved to Northern California after college. She spends her free time hiking and cooking, as a favorite hobby.
Favorite Destination: Paris, where she used to own an apartment many years ago.
Group Digital Content Manager
Jessica is a fifth-generation Northern California resident who heads up all things digital at 270 Media. The UC Santa Cruz graduate has worked at Marin Magazine for four years — before that she worked as an editor and content manager at a design firm in Cape Town, South Africa and as the editor of Etihad Airway's airline magazine while she was living in Dubai. She now lives in San Francisco with her cat, Pascal.
Favorite Destination: Cape Town, South Africa, where she lived for six years.
Jessica Hamilton, known as Jess H in the office, graduated from Arizona State University and spent four years teaching middle school math. She was called into publishing via Leah Bronson and has been an account manager since April 2021. Jess loves her role, and is especially inspired by helping small businesses grow.
Favorite destination: Arizona to go back and visit family and friends.
Group Executive Editor
Kasia graduated with an English Creative Writing degree from San Francisco State University and worked at various outlets in the City including KQED and the SF Bay Guardian. She landed at Marin Magazine as an editorial assistant in 2015 and she quickly grew her role in the editorial department. Born in Ploty, Poland and raised in a castle (ask her about it), Kasia moved to Southern California at the age of seven, and even though English is her second language, she is the go-to grammarian in the company.
Favorite Destination: Anywhere in Japan.
Publisher, Marin Magazine
Leah started her media career at the Marin Independent Journal and joined the Marin team in June 2008, and has been an integral part of the sales team. Along the way, she curated many of the Marin Magazine fashion features (her masters degree is in fashion merchandising) on her path to becoming publisher. Born and raised in Napa Valley, she married a native Sausalito boy and had twins, who can often be found near any water source, especially Lake Tahoe.
Favorite Destination: Kailua Beach with a fresh bowl of Alicia’s Market poke.
Senior Advertising Sales
Lesley has been with Marin Magazine for eight years and comes from a background of TV, radio, newspaper and digital platforms. Born and raised in San Francisco and Marin, she loves traveling to far away places but stays closer to home lately.
Favorite Destination: Any place in the Wine Country, preferably in the sun.
Maeve started with Marin Magazine in February of 2007 and has been an integral part of the team as controller. If you owe us money, she’ll be calling. Born and raised in Ireland, she raised her two daughters along with her husband Tom, in Mill Valley and can be found on the tennis court or mountain when not in the office.
Favorite Destination: Brockway Springs Resort in Kings Beach, North Shore Tahoe.
Mikalia was born and raised in London, England before moving to California at the age of 12. She graduated from UCLA in 2015 with a degree in Sociocultural Anthropology and has spent the last seven years moving all over the country as a social worker, educator and self-proclaimed nomad. She has since found her way back to the Bay Area to join the team at 270 Media where she has added marketing manager to her resume and put those people skills to the test.
Favorite Destination: Behind my steering wheel on a two-lane highway.
Sharon was born in San Francisco and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Communication Arts from SFSU. She has spent her career in broadcast, print and visual communications. Sharon has worked as an account executive, producer, voice over and on camera talent. Her experience has given her the unique perspective of understanding what is important to an advertiser as well as the audience. You can still see Sharon occasionally hosting shows and segments on KRON-TV channel 4.
Favorite Destination: A park bench in Paris.
Paula is a recent SJSU English/Professional and Technical Writing graduate. Before joining 270 Media as an Editorial Assistant, she worked as a student editor/contributor for California’s oldest literary journal, Reed Magazine, and SJSU’s English Department newsletter. Born in Las Vegas and raised in the Temecula Valley area, Paula calls California home. She now resides in San Francisco with her Pembroke Welsh Corgi and enjoys cooking in her spare time.
Favorite Destinations: Grand Central Market in DTLA and Gwangjang Market Food Alley in Seoul, South Korea.
